Tyrinėjimai Žvejų gatvėje

LT2006 m. gegužės mėnesį UAB „Baltic reality adviser“ MLIM užsakė archeologinius tyrinėjimus būsimo pastato vietoje Klaipėdoje, Žvejų g. 10. Šis sklypas yra Danės upės kairiajame krante, tarp dviejų dabar čia stovinčių pastatų, buvusių raudonų plytų sandėlių – Žvejų g. 4 ir 4A. Dabar tai restoranai „Memelis“ ir „Petit Marselis“. Ateityje šioje vietoje planuojama statyti pastatą, todėl reikėjo šį sklypą archeologiškai ištirti [p. 325].

ENIn 2006 a total area of 426 m² was excavated during an evaluation in the lots located at Žvejų St. 10 and 8 beside Klaipėda Old Town. Two development horizons were discovered: 2nd half of the 17th – early 18th century and 2nd half of the 18th – 1st half of the 19th century (up until the 1854 fire). Mostly these were warehouse foundations built on wooden grills, fragments of stone paving, rain barrels, storage boxes, and two vats used as toilets. A large quantity of finds dating to the 2nd half of the 17th–19th centuries and characteristic of the cultural layers in Klaipėda Old Town were found. The remains of about 200 pieces of various leather strips and leather shoes, of which 14 were complete shoes were found in a late 17th century cultural layer.
