LT2006 m. Kėdainių senamiestyje, sklype Senosios g. 18 tyrinėtas 239,6 m2 plotas. Šis sklypas buvo Kėdainių senamiesčio (urbanistinio paminklo U 35) teritorijoje, Senosios rinkos aikštės ir Senosios g. prieigose [p. 321].
ENIn 2006, an area of 239.6 m2, which is located in the approach to Senosios Rinkos Sq. and Senosios St., was excavated in the lot at Senosios St. 18 in Kėdainiai Old Town. The investigation of the lot was begun in 1990 and 1991 but not completed due to a lack of funds: 2 basements were incompletely excavated. A brick 8 x 7.2 m basement with stone paving was built in the early 17th century. It showed signs of a fire. The house standing above the basement was made of brick in the Gothic or Renaissance fashion and had two entrances on the S and E sides. This house stood in the middle of the market square, which allows one to draw the conclusion that the city’s first town hall could have been founded in it and the city jail was in the basement. In the 2nd half of the 17th century, the basement was filled in with rubble, in which were discovered finds from the middle and 2nd half of the 17th century: whole stove tiles and sherds of them, pot and plate sherds, and glass bottle and wine glass shards. The other excavated brick basement was built in the 2nd half of the 19th century and is 13.15 x 7.5 m in size. The house that stood above it was demolished after the Second World War.
