ENIn 2006 an area of 208 m2 was excavated in Kėdainiai Old Town in the courtyard of the M. Daukša Public Library (Didžioji Rinka Sq. 9–11). The remains of rotten wood, signs of wooden stakes, the remains of a clay fireplace, and pottery were discovered in the lower horizon. The remains of rotten logs and boards, flakes of red brick, household pottery sherds, and 17th century stove tile sherds were discovered in the 16th–17th century horizon. The remains of a wooden house built in the late 17th century and demolished in the 1st half of the 18th century were discovered in the upper cultural layer horizon dating to the 18th–19th centuries. 18th century stove tile and clay pipe sherds and hoard of coins consisting of 603 Lithuanian and Polish shillings of John II Casimir were discovered in the remains.
