Šūklių dvarvietė

LTŠūklių dvarvietė yra Vilkaviškio r. ŠV dalyje. Į ją galima patekti važiuojant iš Kudirkos Naumiesčio į Kybartus ir pasukant į Vilkupių kaimą. Įvažiavus į kaimą reikia pasukti Š link einančiu keliu į Šūklių kaimą, o pati dvarvietė yra už Žeimenos upelio, skiriančio ją nuo kaimo. Šiuo metu dvarvietėje stovi mūrinis dviejų aukštų buvusio dvaro pastatas. Prie pastato Š pusės yra išlikusios buvusios mokyklos mūrinio priestato liekanos. Į ŠV nuo buvusių dvaro rūmų yra medinis ūkinis pastatas, apie 120 m į Š stovi gerai išlikęs mūrinis svirnas. Dvarą supa senas parkas [p. 238].

EN2 trenches (with a total area of 26 m2) were excavated during a field evaluation at the Ðûkliai manor site (Vilkaviškis Dist.). A layer of grey earth up to 30 cm thick, which is closer in composition to a forest or park topsoil rather than a cultural layer formed over a longer period, was found in trenches at not disturbed locations. No archaeological finds were found in it. The remains of the foundations of three different buildings were found in trench 2 but their precise dating and purpose remain unclear. Based on the construction of foundations and the specific manufacturing features of the bricks that were found, they should be dated to the 1st half of the 19th century at the earliest. But a bigger field evaluation is necessary in order to confirm or refute this statement.
