ENAn area of 60 m2 was excavated in 2006 during a field evoluation in the territory of the old Kapčiamiestis city cemetery. In trench 6, 4 burials were found, in trenches 7 and 11, 2 burials disturbed during earth moving work. The burials and the remains of the former burials – disturbed graves were discovered in one line, 6 m beyond the boundary of the protected cemetery territory. It was established that the cemetery territory has been artificially reduced in the S. A burial was also found in trench 10 to the NE of the boundary of the protected cemetery territory. During the 2006 field evaluation in 2006 it was established that the cemetery’s current boundaries are inaccurate and therefore it is essential to correct them.
