Joniškės kapinynas

LT2006 m. spalio mënesį pagal sutartį su LAD spëjamoje kapinyno teritorijoje vykdyti žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimai. Jų metu ištirtos 4 perkasos (40 m2 plotas), tačiau kapų ar jų liekanų neaptikta. Perkasose 1 ir 3, perarto sluoksnio apačioje, rasti du su kapais sietini radiniai: vytinës vario lydinio antkaklës fragmentas (perkasoje 1) ir dvigubas vario lydinio karoliukas (perkasoje 3). Be to, tyrimų metu į P nuo sklypo 82 esančio sklypo savininkas Gaudusevičius teigë, kad maždaug prieš 20 metų (apie 1985 m.) savo sklype jis radęs ir į tuometinį Klaipëdos kraštotyros muziejų perdavęs „žalvarinį gyvatuką“. Pagal apibûdinimą tai greičiausiai buvusi apyrankë gyvuliniais galais. [...] [p. 162].

ENJoniškė cemetery has been known since the late 19th century when it was excavated by a local landowner. All the finds (a battle axe, a sword, fragments of twisted wire and torqued neck rings, penannular and late ladder brooches, late brooches decorated with ringlets, bracelets and pins, sherds of small ceramic pots, and part of a set of scales) went to PM. The finds date to the Late Iron Age. The location of the cemetery was not known during the postwar years. In 2006 4 trenches (with an area of 40 m2) were excavated at the supposed site of the cemetery but no burials were found. In trenches 1 and 3, at the bottom of the ploughed layer, two finds connected with burials were found: a fragment of a bronze twisted wire neck ring (in trench 1) and a small copper alloy double bead (in trench 3).
