Kuprių pilkapynas

LT2006 m. vykdyti archeologiniai tyrinëjimai Kuprių pilkapyne (Ignalinos r.) (A 1517), esančiame Aukštaitijos nacionaliniame parke, 0,15 km į V nuo Prûdo ežero, į R nuo Ûsių ežero, abipus Švenčionëlių–Utenos kelio, Kaltanënų girininkijos Kamčiatkos miške. Pilkapynas žvalgytas 1958 (LII) ir 1985 m. (MMT). Tyrinëjimų rezultatai neleidžia tiksliau datuoti pilkapio, jis gali priklausyti plačiam laikotarpiui – I tûkst. viduriui – II tûkst. pradžiai. Iš pilkapio sąrangos (atskiri grioviai, nëra akmenų vainiko) bei kai kurių laidosenos bruožų (nëra įkasto griautinio kapo) galima šį pilkapį priskirti I tûkst. antrajai pusei (apie VII–X a.). ENIn 2006 archaeological excavations were made at Kupriai barrow cemetery (Ignalina Dist.). The remains of a barrow destroyed during the construction of a high voltage power line were discovered. From these remains it is clear that the barrow was 6.5x9 m in diameter, somewhat oblong, and surrounded by three ditches. On the inner side of the NE ditch, finds were discovered in a layer of charred wood particles: sherds of a small thrown pot and part of a sharpening stone. From the barrow’s structure and some features of the funeral rites it is possible to ascribe this barrow to the 2nd half of the 1st millennium (about the 7th–10th centuries).
