Žardės gyvenviečių kompleksas

LT2006 m. vykdyti archeologiniai žvalgomieji ir archeologiniai tyrinëjimai Klaipëdoje, sklypuose Jûrininkų prospekte 25, 27, kurių bendras plotas – apie 3 ha. Tyrimus užsakë ir finansavo A. Griciaus autotransporto įmonë, kuri sklype planuoja įrengti administracijos ir autotransporto paslaugų centrą. Tyrinëta teritorija yra Klaipëdos miesto P dalyje. Iki tyrimų pradžios sklypai buvo neužstatyti, čia driekësi pievos, kurios anksčiau nuolat artos. Tyrimų metu buvo aptikta senovës gyvenvietë, kurios dalis, patenkanti į užstatomą teritoriją, ištirta. ENIn 2006 an excavation was conducted in Klaipëda at Jûrininkų Ave. 25, 27. An ancient settlement, which is ascribed to the Þardë hill fort and settlement complex was discovered in this territory. During the investigation, an area of 2.5 ha was excavated. Part of the settlement occupied an area 1.4 ha in size on the SW slope of a hill. 38 cooking pits and pits for various purposes, some of which had been disturbed or destroyed through agricultural activities, were found during the excavation. It is possible to connect some of these objects with iron mining and smelting. Finds were collected during the excavation: hand built smooth pottery, a piece of a silver bar, unprocessed amber fragments, Stone Age flint finds, dross, iron slag, and a fragment of a blacksmith’s iron sledge (hammer). The settlement’s chronology is problematic since contradictory information was obtained. The silver bar dates to the middle or even 2nd half of the 14th century. The results of the carbon 14 test showed that the settlement could date to the 1st millennium BC 1st millennium AD.
