LT2022 m. UAB „Mostą“ užsakymu Aguonų g. 22 Bialystoko universiteto administracinio pastato ir pagalbinių patalpų teritorijoje vykdyti detalieji tyrimai prieš naujo universiteto pastato statybos darbus. Numatomo pastato vietoje detaliai iki įžemio ištirtas 977,37 m2 plotas [p. 403].
ENAt 22 Aguonų St., a 196 m2 area was excavated and a 977.37 m2 area was surveyed. In the central part of the site, the survey revealed a 20th-century pavement under the current surface. The detailed excavation identified five distinct archaeological layers, ranging from 1.7 to 4.32 m in thickness. The layers were most prominent in the S-SE part of the plot, but nothing of value survived in the NW part, where 20th-century construction work took place. In the remaining part of the site, layers from the 17th to the second half of 18th centuries were investigated below the 19th- and 20th-century fill. Sterile soil was reached at Habs = 132.52133.24 m in the W, at Habs = 129.90-130.11 m in the E, and at H = 129.00-132.23 m. at the base of the features. The excavations uncovered: the remains of 5 buildings (first half of the 17th century - first half of the 20th century); 4 fragments of pavements (first half of the 19th century-early 20th century); a hypocaust stove (first half 17th century); a possible fragment of an oven base; the remnants of a wooden structure (first half of the 17th century; and two burials. Ten features cut into sterile soil were identified and excavated.A total of 5,242 artefacts that date to the 16th-20th centuries were recovered, consisting mainly of 16th- and mid-17th-century pottery. The majority of the household pottery was comprised of pots and jugs, with a predominantly green and brown glaze. Furthermore, there were 647 pieces of whole and fragmented stove tiles, mostly panel type. The stove tiles were most commonly decorated with green glaze, Moresque, floral and carnation motifs, and continuous ornaments. The majority of the identified coins were schillings of John II Casimir of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, minted in 16601666. Of the more curious finds, there was a copper counting token from Nuremberg, dating to the reign of Louis XV (1715-1774), and a cloth seal depicting the coat of arms of London with a cross. Fragments of footwear were found in the layer which dated to the 17tb century.
