Tyrimai Tilto gatvėje 12C

LT2022 m. Vilniuje atliekant daugiabučio gyvenamojo namo Tilto g. 12C fasadų tvarkybos darbus ir atidengiant šio pastato (UK 33688) pamatą buvo vykdomi žvalgymai. Tilto gatvė, aktuose minima nuo XVI a., priemiestyje atsirado kaip kelias, vedantis iš pilies link tilto per Nerį [p. 396].

ENIn 2022, an exploratory excavation was carried out at Tilto St. 12C, Vilnius, consisting of a single trench measuring approximately 0.7 m wide and 28 m long (total area of 20 m2). The excavation revealed two distinct archaeological layers, which were identified underthe fill in the SE part of the trench. First, a layer of dark grey gravelly sand 15-20 cm thick was encountered at a depth of 65-70 cm, containing finds from the mid-17th to the 18th centuries (structural ceramics, household pottery fragments and a 2-schilling coin of John II Casimir). Underneath, a layer of brownish gravelly sandy loam was found at a depth of 85-90 cm with archaeological finds dating to the late 16th-17th centuries (fragments of stove tiles, sherds of household pottery, a triangular iron padlock and a sword guard). At the NW end of the trench, an archaeological layer of black sandy loam with charcoal inclusions and pottery sherds (17th-18th century) was found at a depth of 1.2 m, underneath a late backfill.
