ENThe paper considers the place and role of Belarusian-Polish borderland writers (Adam Mickiewicz, Władysław Syrokomla, and Eliza Orzeszkowa) in Along River Valleys. A Description of Travelling along the Neman, the Vistula, the Bug River, and the Biebrza an itinerary by Zygmunt Gloger (1845–1910), a famous Polish ethnographer, writer, literary critic, historian, and publicist. The paper reveals cultural realias of Belarusian-Polish borderland and the forms in which they are presented in Zygmunt Gloger’s essay. The research has been completed of the forms and strategies employed by Zygmunt Gloger to insert into his text citations and allusions from the fiction by Adam Mickiewicz, Władysław Syrokomla, and Eliza Orzeszkowa.
