Summary / Abstract:

LT2007 m. A. Volano g. 2 atlikti archeologiniai žvalgymai rekonstruojamos šiluminės trasos vietoje Švietimo ir mokslo ministerijos pastato vidiniame kieme ir priešais ministerijos pastatą esančios A. Volano g. R pusėje, šaligatvio dalyje. Po A. Volano g. trasa buvo paklota uždaruoju būdu. Žvalgyta bendro 74 m ilgio, 143 m2 ploto ir iki 1,2–1,9 m gylio tiestos šiluminės trasos vieta. Pastato A. Volano g. 2 vidinio kiemo Š dalyje Š–P kryptimi kastos 44,4 m ilgio, 1,8 m pločio ir iki 0,8 m gylio trasos atkarpos AB, BC, CD. Čia 0,8 m gylyje nuo dabartinio žemės paviršiaus aptikta 1975–1976 m. paklota šiluminė trasa, virš kurios fiksuoti vien supiltiniai permaišytos žemės sluoksniai. Pastato A. Volano g. 2 vidinio kiemo P dalyje V–R kryptimi kasta 18,5 m ilgio, 1,8 m pločio ir iki 1,2 m gylio atkarpa DE. Jos P pusėje 0,6–1,2 m gylyje aptikti XVII a. kultūriniai sluoksniai, kuriuose rasta koklių, buitinės keramikos, stiklo šukių. Atkarpos Š pusė pateko į šalia esančio kanalizacijos kolektoriaus duobę, todėl čia kultūrinis sluoksnis jau buvo suardytas. A. Volano g. R pusėje kasto 4x3 m dydžio ir iki 1,8 m gylio šurfo 3 dugne aptikta anksčiau paklota šiluminė trasa, užversta permaišytos žemės sluoksniu. A. Volano g. R pusėje prie gatvės važiuojamosios dalies iškasto 4x3,2 m dydžio ir iki 1,9 m gylio šurfo 4 Š dalyje 1,36–1,9 m gylyje aptiktas XVII a. I pusės kultūrinis sluoksnis, kuriame rasta koklių, buitinės keramikos, stiklo šukių. Pačiame šurfo ŠR kampe, 1,44 m gylyje nuo žemės paviršiaus aptikta Š–P kryptimi orientuotos suardytos krosnies, sumūrytos iš raudonų plytų, rištų moliu, sienelės dalis. 2007 m. atlikti archeologiniai žvalgymai Ligoninės g. 1 ir 4 tiesiamos šiluminės trasos vietoje. Žvalgytas bendro 36 m ilgio, 1,2–1,5 m pločio (apie 48 m2 ploto) ir iki 1,3–1,4 m gylio ruožas. [...] [p. 432].

ENIn 2007 surveys were conducted at various sites in the old town and in the suburbs. A survey was conducted at a heating main reconstruction site in the interior courtyard of the Ministry of Education and Science building at A. Volano St. 2 and at the part of the pavement on the E side of this building. The heating main route (a total length of 74 m, an area of 143 m2, and a depth of up to 1.2–1.9 m) was surveyed. 17th-century cultural layers, which contained stove tile sherds, household ceramic sherds, and glass shards, were discovered in the segment excavated in a W–E direction in the S part of the building’s interior courtyard. A cultural layer, which was created in the first half of the 17th century and which contained stove tile sherds, household ceramic sherds, and glass shards, was discovered at a depth of 1.36–1.9 m in the test pit excavated on the E side of A. Volano St. Part of a red brick wall from a demolished stove was discovered in the NE corner of the test pit. A field survey was conducted in a strip a total of 36 m long, 1.2–1.5 m wide (about 48 m2) and up to 1.3–1.4 m deep at the site of a heating main being laid at Ligoninės St. 1 and 4. In the first stage, a survey was conducted in a 26 m long segment of the trench, which was dug through the vehicle entrance from Ligoninės St. into the courtyard of the building at Ligoninės St. 4. Fragments of a 19th-century fill cultural layer, which contained factory-made 19th-century stove tile and faience plate sherds, were discovered. A foundation, which belonged to a house, which was on Ligoninės St. and was demolished during the Second World War, was discovered at the SW end of the trench. In the second stage, a survey was conducted in a 10 m long segment, which was dug in the carriageway of Ligoninės St. A mixed layer of dark earth with animal bones, rubble, and various seams, in which 17th-century stove tile and pot sherds were discovered, was recorded.A survey was conducted at a well construction site at Tilto St. 8. A 4 m2 test pit was excavated up to a depth of 3 m. A sewer laid under present-day Tilto St. in the mid-19th century was discovered at its bottom. No archaeologically valuable cultural layer was discovered. A layer, which contained brickbat rubble and had been disturbed during earlier earthwork, was recorded. A field survey was conducted at a well construction site at Savičiaus St. 14. A 4 m2 test pit was excavated up to a depth of up to 2.7 m. A sewer laid in the first decades of the 19th century and leading from the Savičiaus St. seminary palace to the Vilnia was discovered at its bottom. No archaeologically valuable cultural layer was discovered. A layer, which contained small rubble and had been disturbed during earlier earthwork, was recorded. The construction of outbuildings, i.e. a winter garden, near the W and NE walls of a sauna occurred at Subačiaus St. 49A. The site of the winter garden foundation trenches, 24 x 0.5 (12 m2) and a depth of 0.5–0.6 m, was surveyed. No archaeologically valuable cultural layer was discovered.
