Tyrinėjimai prie Rinktinės ir Olimpiečių g. sankirtos

LT2007 m. buvo tęsiami archeologiniai tyrinėjimai Vilniuje, sklype greta Rinktinės ir Olimpiečių g. sankirtos. Tai buvo trečiasis su „Mindaugo apartamentų“ pastatų komplekso statyba susijusių tyrinėjimų etapas. Trijų archeologinių tyrinėjimų sezonų metu ištirta 11 žvalgomųjų ir viena pilna perkasa. 2004 m. šiame sklype tyrinėtos keturios žvalgomosios perkasos, iš viso 27 m2 dydžio plotas. Aptiktas ir ištirtas nedidelis XV a. kultūrinio sluoksnio fragmentas. Vėliau vykdyti didelio masto archeologiniai žvalgymai. 2005 m. ištirtos dar dvi žvalgomosios perkasos, iš viso 20 m2 dydžio plotas (žr. ATL 2005 metais, V., 2006, p. 348–349). 2007 m. ištirtos penkios žvalgomosios perkasos, iš viso 34 m2 plotas. Taip pat atlikti išsamūs archeologiniai tyrinėjimai 69 m2 dydžio plote. Be to, visoje statybų teritorijoje atlikti archeologiniai žvalgymai. 2007 m. numatomo statyti „Mindaugo apartamentų“ II korpuso vietoje atlikus žvalgomuosius tyrinėjimus (žvalgomosios perkasos 7–11) nustatyta, kad tyrinėtoje vietoje nėra vertingo kultūrinio sluoksnio. Keisčiausi duomenys gauti tyrinėjant „Mindaugo apartamentų“ sklypo ŠR dalį, dėl kurios vyksta įnirtinga diskusija, buvo ar nebuvo toje vietoje kapinės. Paaiškėjo, kad Sporto rūmų statybos metu toje vietoje buvo iškasta milžiniška duobė, kurioje statybininkai palaidojo statybines šiukšles, daugiausia betoninių konstrukcijų nuolaužas. Taigi diskusija, išaugusi į tarptautinį skandalą, yra beprasmė. Remiantis žvalgomųjų tyrinėjimų duomenimis, vykstant II korpuso statybos darbams, 1580 m2 plote vykdyti archeologiniai žvalgymai. ENIn 2007 the excavation on the plot at the intersection of Rinktinės and Olimpiečių Sts. was continued. After excavating exploratory trenches 7–11 at the construction site of the planned building II of the King Mindaugas apartments, it was established that there was no valuable cultural layer at the investigated site. It was discovered that during the construction of the Sports palace, a gigantic pit had been dug at the site of the suspected cemetery and used to bury the construction waste. A 20–40 cm thick disturbed cultural layer from the first half of the 15th century was discovered in trench 12. Isolated flint artefacts from a destroyed Stone Age settlement cultural layer were found. Judging from the sparse 16th–17th-century ceramic and ‘pot-shaped’ stove tile (Topfkachel) finds, the non-intense layer from that period that had existed at that site had later been destroyed. The furnace remains from the first half of 15th century that were discovered in 2005 and the layers below them were fully excavated. It was determined that the furnace had been built on top an early 15th-century rubbish pit with abundant finds and animal bones. Luxury items: a Gothic openwork earring, spurs, padlocks, ‘pot-shaped’ stove tiles, a glazed Gothic decorative tile, and a glazed Gothic decorative flat stove tile, were found in the pit. It is thought that the investigated farmstead belonged to a wealthy person.
