LT2022 m. birželį Kernavėje (Širvintų r., Kernavės sen.), Kriveikiškio g. 10A, buvo vykdyti žvalgomieji tyrimai. Tų pačių metų spalį, remiantis žvalgomųjų tyrimų rezultatais, atlikti detalieji tyrimai. Tyrimai buvo reikalingi, nes užsakovai planuoja vykdyti statybos darbus sklype, patenkančiame į Kernavės senojo miesto vietos II teritoriją (UK 24568) [p. 301].
ENThe 2022 field evaluation (two 1 m2 test pits) and subsequent excavation (one 42 m2 trench) at Kriveikiškio St. 10A, Kernavė, examined a 16th-20th-century cultural layer. The upper cultural layer had been disturbed and greatly contaminated by Modern Era (19th-20th-century) material while the lower one from the 16th-18th centuries had survived in good condition with little disturbance. The excavation of the trench and sieving of the soil yielded a total of 1203 finds, among which sherds of thrown and partly thrown pottery predominated. Other types of finds were sparse: 2 stove tile fragments, 32 metal artefacts, 5 glass finds, 1 whetstone fragment, and 1 flint flake. The sterile soil under the cultural layer yielded sunken objects, which were dated to the 16th-18th centuries on the basis of the finds. The function of these objects was not precisely determined but they should be treated as storage or utility pits based on their form and contents. One object, due to the greater quantity of slag and fused soil fragments, was treated as a metal working site.
