Kauno dominikonų vienuolyno ansamblis

LT2022 m. sklype Vilniaus g. 31 (Kaunas) esančio dominikonų vienuolyno ansamblio (UK 1158) teritorijoje atlikti detalieji tyrimai, suprojektuotos naujos lietaus nuotekų trasos vietoje. Detaliųjų tyrimų metu ištirta viena 18,5 x 1-2 m dydžio perkasa, iš viso 36 m2 plotas [p. 260].

ENThe 2022 excavation (one 18.5 x 1-2 m trench (36 m2)) at Vilniaus St. 31, Kaunas revealed, under 0.15-1.65 m thick 20th-century layers of soil, at a depth of roughly 0.45-1.5 m, a 17th-18th-century archaeological layer up to 1.75 m thick that formed during the construction of the church and the burial of the dead. This horizon contained a total of 42 17th-18th-century burials with contemporaneous grave goods (coins, rings). In addition, the investigation yielded a copious number of isolated human bones from destroyed burials and various 16th-18th-century finds: household and structural ceramics, coins, rings, religious paraphernalia, etc.
