Basųjų karmelitų vienuolyno kiemas Vilniuje

LT2022 m. TO atliko žvalgomuosius tyrimus Vilniuje, Aušros Vartų g. 12, Basųjų karmelitų vienuolyno kieme. Prieš vykdant vienuolyno parko tvarkybos darbus, siekiant nustatyti buvusių neišlikusių statinių (gynybinės sienos senosios trasos, galerijos tarp dviejų vienuolyno statinių, rotondos) tikslesnes vietas buvo ištirti 6 šurfai: trys 3 x 2 m, du 1,5 x 1,5 m ir vienas 2 x 1 m dydžio šurfai. Žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu ištirtas 30,6 m2 plotas [p. 238].

ENThe field survey (6 various-sized test pits in a 30.6 m2 area) yielded numerous sherds of household pottery and stove tiles as well some metal and glass artefacts and animal bones. Test Pits 2 and 4 revealed the remains of the walls and masonry of the former Discalced Carmelite monastery gallery, Test Pit 3 a large base of hard-packed clay, which should be associated with the earlier development of the Vilnius city defensive wall in the 16th century and a section of the path between the Medininkai and Subačius Gates. Thick, 16th-20th-century layers of mixed, shifted, and fill soil, gravel, and rubble were recorded in the test pits.
