ENIn 2007 the investigation at Lazdininkai (Kalnalaukis) cemetery (West Lithuania, Kretinga district) was continued with the excavation of 3 trenches (a total area of 41 m2 ). 8 human inhumations, one of which was a double child burial, and 1 horse burial were discovered. Disturbed burial 84, that of a female, and burial 11, that of a horse, were excavated in trench 43. On the basis of the finds discovered in the trench, it is possible to assign the burials to the 2nd–3rd centuries. 5 burials were excavated in trench 44: burial 85 that of a male, burial 8 that of a female, burial 87 that of a child, symbolic burial 88, and burial 89 that of a female, which, on the basis of their construction, the composition of the sparse grave goods, and the grave goods themselves, can be assigned to the 8th–9th centuries. Double inhumation burial 90A, B that of children and inhumation burial 91 that of a male were excavated in trench 45. Beads forming a necklace allow the inhumation of a child of undetermined sex (burial 90A) to be preliminarily dated to the second half of the th – mid-7th century. The set of grave goods ascribed to inhumation 90B, that of a child, should also be dated to the second half of the th – mid-7th century. iniature hand built pots with different shapes and the different necklaces found beside them allow one to state that they are the separate burials of children buried around the same time. The set of grave goods from inhumation 91, that of a male, is characteristic of a mounted warrior from the second half of the th – mid-7th century. udging from the fragmentary nature of some finds discovered in the burial, their position in respect to the individual, and the humus fill in the burial pit, this burial could have been looted at an indeterminate moment in ancient times. In addition, the NE part of the burial was dug up, evidently in preparing the site for a new burial.
