Summary / Abstract:

LT2007 m., vadovaujantis KPD ardomų archeologinių vietų tyrinėjimų programa, buvo pratęsti Paduobės (Šaltaliūnės) III grupės pilkapyno (Švenčionių r.) (A 109 P) tyrinėjimai, LNM pradėti 1987 m. (žr. ATL 1986 ir 1987 metais, V., 1988, p. 1–3; ATL 1988 ir 1989 metais, V., 1990, p. 1–2; ATL 1990 ir 1991 metais, V., 1992, t. 1, p. 124–127; ATL 1992 ir 1993 metais, V., 1994, p. 112–113; ATL 1994 ir 1995 metais, V., 199, p. 83–84; ATL 1998 ir 1999 metais, V., 2000, p. 205–20; ATL 2000 metais, V., 2002, p. 7; ATL 2001 metais, V., 2002, p. 9–97; ATL 2002 metais, V., 2005, p. 77–78; ATL 2003 metais, V., 2005, p. 98– 100; ATL 2004 metais, V., 2006, p. 87–91; ATL 2005 metais, V., 200, p. 98–101; ATL 2006 metais, V., 2007, p. 132–133). 2007 m. ištirtas ardomas pilkapis 18 (iš viso 414 m² plotas). Ištirtas pilkapis skirtinas Rytų Lietuvos pilkapių kultūrai. Pagal įrangą ir radinius jį galima datuoti V–VI a. Aptikti radiniai saugomi LNM. Osteologinė medžiaga perduota VU MF. [...] [p. 168-169].

ENIn 2007 disturbed barrow 18 (a total area of 414 m2) was excavated in Paduobė (Šaltaliūnė) group III barrow cemetery (Švenčionys district). The surviving part of the mound had a diameter of 12–14 m, a height of up to 1.4 m, and a stone circle with an inside diameter of 11.5–12 m. The distance between the inside edges of the ditches was about 22 m and the total diameter of the barrow together with the ditches was 30 m. The barrow’s mound contained one cremation burial covered with stones. A small iron belt buckle, part of a bronze rivet, and small fragments of iron and bronze artefacts were found in it. A disturbed pit, 1.9x1.2 m in area and 0 cm deep, was found at the primary ground surface in the central part of the barrow. udging from the construction it is possible to think that this is a disturbed inhumation burial. Only three stones were found on the bottom of the undisturbed part of the pit but no bones or finds were discovered. A bronze coil ring, a rivet, and part of a thin ornament were found in the disturbed part of the barrow. These artefacts evidently ended up there from the disturbed burial. The excavated barrow should be ascribed to the East Lithuanian barrow culture and judging from the construction and grave goods, it is possible to date it to the 5th–th centuries.
