Kaštaunalių kapinynas

LT2022 m. buvo vykdomi Šilalės rajone esančio kelio Laukuva-Treigiai-Kaštaunaliai-Šilalės plentas kapitalinio remonto darbai. Apie 190 m ilgio atkarpa (apie 1480 m2 dydžio rekonstrukcijų ploto) kirto saugomą Kaštaunalių kapinyno (UK 6815) (Šilalės r., Laukuvos sen.) teritoriją, todėl suplanuotų darbų vietoje buvo atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai. Jų metu ištirtos 3 10-14 m2 dydžio perkasos, iš viso 34 m2 plotas [p. 134].

ENIn 2022, a field survey was carried out in Kaštaunaliai cemetery (western Lithuania, Šilalė district), at the site of upcoming road reconstruction works. Three trenches measuring 34 m2 in total were excavated. Trenches 1-2 revealed several grey sandy soil pits at the natural soil horizon which contained copper-alloy and iron artefacts associated with Kaštaunaliai cemetery. Past excavations determined that human remains survive poorly in this cemetery and, although the fill of the pits contained no human remains, two out of three features with artefacts in their fill were identified as burials. They were designated Burials 41 and 42, in accordance with the established numbering system.
