Staurylų kapinynas

LT2022 m. Staurylų kapinyno (UK 4291) teritorijoje (Telšių r., Tryškių sen.) atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai. Anksčiau kapinynas netyrinėtas. 2020 m. vasario 4 d. ir kovo 15 d. KPC siūlymu buvo nutarta nustatyti kapinyno vertingųjų savybių išlikimo laipsnį, patikslinti teritoriją. Dėl šios priežasties KPD inicijavo atlikti šio saugomo objekto žvalgomuosius tyrimus ir žvalgymus. Rasti radiniai perduoti į ŽMA [p. 129].

ENIn 2022, the exploratory excavation of Staurylai cemetery (western Lithuania, Telšiai district) yielded 31 metal artefacts dating from the 4th to the 20th centuries: an axe; an iron adze; knife fragments; jewellery and fragments thereof; parts of horse clothing; nails; a crucifix; etc. Most of these finds were grave goods. In Trench 9, a heavily disturbed inhumation was excavated. At a depth of 45 cm, the poorly preserved skeletal remains of a male over 30 years old were found. The grave contained three 4th-5th-century grave goods: a socketed axe and two spearheads. Firepit 5, dated to the 4th century by means of 14C, contained wood charcoal and sherds of a hand-thrown pottery vessel with coarse granite inclusions. The total area excavated in 2022 was 92.5 m2.
