Tyrimai Galvės g. 4 Trakuose

LT2008 m. sklype Galvės g. 4 sklype klojamų komunikacijų (vandentiekio, fekalinės kanalizacijos) vietose archeologinių tyrimų metu buvo žvalgytas 117 m2 dydžio plotas. Tyrimai buvo vykdomi iki projektinio 1–1,6 m gylio, todėl didesnėje trasų dalyje įžemis nebuvo pasiektas. Jis fiksuotas sklypo pakraščiuose bei šulinių montavimo vietose. Čia kultūrinis sluoksnis siekė 1,1–2,9 m. Jis datuojamas XVII–XX a [p. 468].

ENIn 2008 an excavation (a total area of 117 m2) was conducted in laying utility lines at Galvės St. 4. The 17th–20th-century cultural layer recorded at the plot was 1.1–2.9 m thick. It was determined that the original relief had changed sharply in the vicinity of plot. A swampy hollow flooded with water from lake Galvė had existed in the larger part of the plot. The hollow had begun to be filled in the 17th-century using structural ceramic (brick and roof tile) wasters. Fragments of a 17th-century kiln were unearthed in the SW part of the plot near the edge of the former hollow.
