Miesto aikštė 8

LT2008 m. Žagarėje Š vykdė nedidelės apimties archeologinius žvalgomuosius tyrinėjimus ir žvalgymus. Jų metu Miesto aikštėje 8 tyrinėtas ir žvalgytas 82,88 m2 plotas (iškastos 4 trasos), su 2002 m. tyrinėtu šurfu sudarantis bendrą 84,08 m2 plotą (ATL 2002 metais, V., 2005, p. 240–241). Kultūriniai sluoksniai trasoje 4 sunaikinti. Tyrinėjama vieta yra tarp buvusio (dabar kanalizuoto ir pakloto po vamzdžiais) upelio slėnio (Habs 64,75–64,92 m) (trasa 1) bei ant kalvelės išsidėsčiusių Naujosios Žagarės turgaus aikštės pastatų kiemų bei daržų (Habs 65,61–66,04 m) [p. 453].

ENDuring a small field survey and evaluation conducted at Miesto Square 8 in Žagarė (Joniškis District) in 2008, 82.88 m2 were excavated and surveyed, which, together with the test pit excavated in 2002, comprises a total area of 84.08 m2. Layers from buildings from the 17th – first half of the 19th century and located in the NE part of the Naujoji Žagarė marketplace, their courtyard, and their gardens were discovered during the excavation. Late 18th – early 19th-century glazed flat and trim stove tile fragments, 19th-century wheel thrown rustic (traditional regional), pottery with an oxidation glaze and unglazed, animal bones, hand-forged iron nails, part of a glass made of clear glass, shards of patinated window glass, and a worn shilling from the reign of John II Casimir were discovered.
