LT2008 m.
ENDuring an evaluation at Klaipėdos St. 7, 3 test pits (a total area of 16.8 m²) were excavated. A 2.5–3.5 m thick cultural layer was discovered. Its lower horizons date to the late 14th – early 15th century. The upper horizon of the cultural layer was formed after the Second World War. A fragment of a masonry wall – the corner of the foundation of a wooden building that stood on this plot in the first half of the 17th century – was unearthed in test pit 2. The building’s position may show the direction of the alley that existed at this site in 17th-century Vilnius. Several levels of street or alley paving were discovered in test pits 1 and 3. The upper stone paving should date to the first half of the 17th century and the lower with the 15th century (early 16th century?). A fragment of a 19th – early 20th-century masonry vault from a basement was discovered in test pit 3.
