Tyrinėjimai J. Basanavičiaus g. 15

LT2008 m. KPIP atliko archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniaus urbanistinėje vietovėje (UV–70), sklype J. Basanavičiaus g. 15 / Mindaugo g. 3, jame numatomų naujo administracinio-prekybinio pastato statybų vietoje. Iš viso ištirtas 838 m² dydžio plotas [p. 433].

ENIn 2008 an excavation (a total area of 838 m²) was conducted on the plot at J. Basanavičiaus St. 15 / Mindaugo St. 3. During the first stage, three test pits were excavated. A cultural layer with 16th–18th-century finds was recorded in them under a 1.4–2.5 m thick fill layer. Afterwards the late layers on the plot were removed mechanically while a watching brief was carried out. During further investigations, two archaeological trenches, a heating line trench, and 16 trenches of various sizes were excavated. A 1–2.7 m thick cultural layer with 16th–18th-century finds: pottery sherds, fragments of ‘pot-shaped’ stove tiles, metal artefacts, etc. was recorded under a 1–2.5 m thick fill layer from the 19th–20th century. The remains of a stove were discovered in the SE part of the plot.
