Tyrinėjimai Vilniaus universiteto Observatorijos kieme

LT2008 m. Vilniaus universiteto Observatorijos kieme įrengiant lietaus nuotekynę ir raunant kieme augusius medžius atlikti archeologiniai žvalgymai. Iki tol šiame universiteto kieme buvo atlikti tik nedidelės apimties tyrinėjimai [p. 396].

ENDuring a field survey conducted during construction work in the courtyard of the Vilnius University Observatory, the locality’s old relief was determined. The earliest discovered finds date to the 15th century. The remains of masonry walls that once stood there were also discovered. It is thought that one of the fragmentally unearthed walls should be dated to the 15th – early 16th century and belongs to the fortifications that ran from the inner courtyard of Lithuania’s Presidential Palace to the Bernardine church. The foundation wall of a vanished arcade built in the early 17th century was partially unearthed in the part of the courtyard.
