Tyrinėjimai Karaimų g. 20

LT2008 m. atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrimai Trakuose, Karaimų g. 20. Tyrimų tikslas – nustatyti šioje vietoje esančio kultūrinio sluoksnio intensyvumą. Būsimo pamato ir rūsio vietose iškasta 11 1 x 2 m dydžio šurfų, jų gylis nuo 0,75 iki 2,15 m. Bendras tyrimų plotas – 22 m2. Šurfuose 1–4, 6–8, 10–11 fiksuotas 0,3–1,2 m storio XX a. kultūrinis sluoksnis, radinių neaptikta. Šurfuose 5 ir 9 rastas XVII a. 0,3–1,5 m storio kultūrinis sluoksnis. Kadangi tose vietose planuota statyti rūsį, pateiktas programos papildymas išsamiems archeologiniams tyrimams [p. 382].

ENDuring an evaluation of the sites of a future foundation and basement at Karaimų St. 20, Trakai, eleven 1 x 2 m test pits with a depth of 0.75–2.15 m (a total area of 22 m2) were excavated. A 17th-century 0.3–1.5 m thick cultural layer was discovered in test pits 5 and 9 and therefore it was decided to excavate the sites of the future foundation and basement. Two trenches (a total area of 53 m²) were excavated. Disturbed paving 3 x 2 m in size and at a depth of 0.5 m from the present ground surface was discovered in the SW corner of trench 1. A 1.3–1.5 m thick cultural layer with 17th–18th-century household pottery, stove tiles, and iron artefacts was recorded under the paving. The cultural layer in trench 2 slopes down to the SW and has a thickness of 1.4–1.5 m on the SW side. 17th–18th-century household pottery, stove tiles, iron artefacts, and a bone netting needle were discovered in the layer.
