Laisvės aikštė 2

LTPanevėžio miesto istorinėje dalyje (31872), Laisvės aikštėje 1, istorijos paminklo teritorijos apsauginėje zonoje statomi gyvenamosios komercinės paskirties pastatai. Infrastruktūros parengiamųjų darbų Laisvės aikštėje 2 vietoje vykdyti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrimai. Jų metu ištirtas bendras 127 m2 plotas [p. 369-370].

ENIn 2008 a field evaluation was conducted at Laisvės Square 2, Panevėžys. During it a total of 127 m2 were excavated and a 2.2–2.6 m thick cultural layer discovered. A well and the bottom of a storehouse – basement dating to the 19th – early 20th century had been dug at the sterile soil level. Part of the foundation of the house’s interior walls, the remains of stoves and the wooden basement ceiling, and the bottom of the basement were unearthed in trenches 2 and 3 after the rubble was removed. Late 18th-century pottery was found in the well and fragments of 19th–20th-century clay and glass vessels, iron household items and pieces of them, horseshoes, and nails on the grounds of the former building, and two late 19th – early 20th-century green glass inkwells at the bottom of the basement.
