Kernavės viršutinis miestas

LT2008 m. tęsti XIII–XIV a. Kernavės viršutinio miesto tyrinėjimai (ATL 2006 metais, V., 2007, p. 93–100). Tyrinėjimai vykdyti kabeliuojamos elektros linijos vietoje. Buvo ištirtas 1 m pločio ir 110 m ilgio plotas. Perkasos orientuotos palei sodybos link einantį keliuką. Tyrinėtas plotas yra Lizdeikos piliakalnio papėdės gyvenvietės Š dalyje ir už jos ribų. Ši vieta yra lauko, kuriame išlikusios Kernavės viršutinio miesto liekanos, V pakraštyje, šalia Mindaugo sosto piliakalnio link einančios griovos. Tyrinėta vieta suskirstyta į atskirus plotus, taip pat iškastos 3 perkasos šalia esančiame sklype, būsimų statybų vietoje. Tęsiant 2006 m. pradėtą perkasų numeraciją, tyrinėti plotai 16–25, iš viso ištirta 166 m2 [p. 336].

ENIn 2008 the excavation of 13th–14th-century Kernavė upper city was continued. The excavation (110 x 1 m, a total of 166 m2) was conducted at the site of an electric line that is being replaced with cable. The excavated area is in the N part of the Lizdeika unenclosed settlement at the foot of the hill and outside of its boundaries. This location is a field, in which the remains of Kernavė upper city have survived on the W edge beside a ditch running towards the hillfort site. The cultural layer had survived only fragmentally in the excavated area; elsewhere sterile soil with various objects was unearthed immediately beneath the topsoil: storage pits, postholes, and traces of fences. 13th–14th-century material predominated everywhere: partly thrown pottery, metal artefacts, animal bones, clay daub, and slag.
