Summary / Abstract:

LTKauno senamiesčio 7 kvartalas yra senamiesčio PV (seniausioje) dalyje. Iš Š jį riboja Rotušės aikštė, iš R – T. Daugirdo gatvė, iš P – Santakos gatvė, iš V – Muziejaus gatvė. Kvartalo plotas 5504 m2. Sklypas Santakos g. 4 naujai suformuotas už sklypo Rotušės aikštėje 11. Šioje vietoje stovėjo menkavertis, apleistas XIX a. pabaigos – XX a. pradžios vienaukštis pastatas, prie jo buvo įrengtas šilumos punktas su betoniniu rūsiu. Sklypo savininkas numato šioje vietoje statyti gyvenamą namą. Numatomas užstatyti plotas 18 x 8 m – 144 m2. Jame rugpjūčio–rugsėjo mėnesiais ir vykdyti archeologiniai tyrinėjimai [p. 316].

ENIn 2008, 115 m2 were excavated on the plot at Rotušės Square 11. The oldest cultural layers date to the late 15th – early 16th century. The majority of the layers are mixed or fill. The traces of the plot’s oldest development consist of three masonry columns and the remains of a stove with no clear purpose that is set into the sterile soil. The end of a demolished basement, built in the mid-16th century and covered with a cylindrical vault, and to the S of it, the foundation of a 5.2 x 6.45 m arch and column construction building were unearthed during the excavation. Mid-16th-century niche (Nischenkacheln) and panel stove tiles (Blattkacheln) were found together with household pottery in the foundation pit. The courtyard was paved with field stones. A 6.45 m arch and column construction building was built onto the S wall in the late 16th century. Its length is unclear as the S part was demolished in the late 20th century through the construction of outbuildings. A heating stove foundation that stood on the brick floor was unearthed inside the building. Various décor stove tiles dating to the third quarter of the 17th century and other finds were discovered. The building was demolished in the late 17th – early 18th century.
