Vyskupo skveras

LT2008 m. UAB „Dailista“ užsakymu atlikti archeologiniai tyrinėjimai būsimos Anykščių viešosios bibliotekos vietoje, kur remiantis 2007 m. archeologinių žvalgomųjų tyrinėjimų duomenimis (ATL 2007 metais, V., 2008, p. 319), yra senamiesčio kultūrinis sluoksnis. Kartu archeologiniai tyrinėjimai atlikti ir vandentiekio bei kanalizacijos tinklų trasų vietose. Iš viso 2008 m. buvo ištirtas 1424 m2 plotas [p. 297].

ENIn 2008, 1424 m2 were excavated at the site of the future Anykščiai public library. An intensive 0.4–1.2 m thick 15th–19th-century cultural layer was discovered and a large quantity of household pottery, glass, metal, and other artefacts was collected. The remains of hearths and buildings were discovered and at the site of the planned building, the remains of a stove. The stove was made of stones bound with clay mortar and dates to the 16th-century. It was removed in order to preserve it. The excavations conducted in Vyskupo Square are so far the broadest and most thorough in Anykščiai Old Town.
