LT2008 m. gegužės 20 d. buvo tęsiami 2007 m. pradėti (žr. ATL 2007 metais, V., 2008, p. 307–309) archeologiniai žvalgymai Naujosios Žagarės (Joniškio r.) Šv. apaštalų Petro ir Povilo bažnyčios šventoriaus (Miesto aikštė 1) tvoros koplytėlių elektros kabelio apšvietimo trasų vietoje. Trasų ilgis – 200 m, plotis – 30 cm, projektinis gylis – 50 cm, žvalgytas bendras 60 m2 plotas [p. 287].

ENDuring a 2008 field survey of the churchyard of the Naujoji Žagarė (Joniškis District) church, 17th–18th-century finds were discovered: two hand-forged iron nails, a bronze brooch (?), a button with the Russian Imperial coat-of-arms, a cross with a crossbar, 2 religious medals, and thirteen 17th–19th-century coins: a 1620 GDL two-denarius coin from the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, four shillings from the reign of John II Casimir (two from Poland: 1663 and 1664, two from Brest in the GDL: 1665 and 1666), a Rīga shilling from the reign of Christina of Sweden (16??), a Livonian shilling from the reign of Charles XI (1663), an 1839 one-pfennig coin from the kingdom of Prussia, an 1820 five-groat coin from the Kingdom of Poland, Russian Imperial one-kopeck coins from the reigns of Nicholas I and Alexander II (1852, 1858, and 1860), and a two-kopeck coin from the reign of Alexander I (1860), 20th-century Soviet coins: a 1955 15-kopeck coin, a 1962 one-kopeck coin, and a 1980 two-kopeck coin, and tens of individual human bones.
