Pilaitės piliavietė

LT2008 m. KPIP Vilniaus miesto savivaldybės administracijos Kultūros paveldo skyriaus užsakymu Pilaitės piliavietės archeologiniai tyrinėjimai atnaujinti. 2008 m. buvo numatyta parengti piliavietės sutvarkymo projektą, įrengiant takus, laiptus, stendus bei konservuoti piliavietės mūro liekanas. Tyrimų metu piliavietės aikštelės Š, P, R ir V pakraščiuose buvo ištirta 16 perkasų, kurių bendras plotas 101 m². Jose aptiktas 0,4–1,6 m storio radiniais turtingas XVI–XVII a. kultūrinis sluoksnis, kuriame rasta žalia ar polichromine glazūra dengtų plokštinių, karnizinių koklių fragmentų, įvairios buitinės žiestos glazūruotos ir neglazūruotos keramikos [p. 207].

EN16 trenches (a total area of 101 m2) were excavated on the N, S, E, and W edges of the hill’s flat top during the investigation of the Pilaitė castle site in 2008 and fragments of the castle site’s masonry walls were unearthed in 9 areas (3–4, 8–10, 13–16) on the E, SW, and N edges. The masonry walls were up to 1.1–1.25 m thick. The tower investigated in 1996 was also unearthed. Its walls were 0.95–1.1 m thick, 0.5–1 m high, and had an interior diameter of about 4 m. The corners of a 15 x 11 m building, the seeming remains of a basement, were found in the W corner of the hill top. All of the discovered walls are from approximately one period: the second half of the 16th – mid-17th century. 0.4–1.6 m thick 16th–17th-century cultural layer that was rich in finds was discovered at the Pilaitė castle site. The finds include interesting polychrome stove tiles, stained glass frames, and glass artefacts.
