Radvilų rūmai ir jų aplinka Dubingių piliavietėje

LT2008 m. archeologiniai tyrimai Dubingių piliavietėje atlikti buvusių rūmų vietoje, archeologiniai žvalgymai – įrenginėtose piliavietės apžvalgos takų ir poilsio aikštelių vietose. Darbai vyko 2008 m. liepos–rugpjūčio mėnesiais. 2008 m. tyrimų pagrindinis tikslas buvo pačių rūmų pamatų ištyrimas, bet siekiant nustatyti jų dydį, raidos etapus ir išlikimo lygį, nedidelės apimties tyrimai buvo pratęsti ir rūmų išoriniame kieme. Tyrinėtas plotas I buvo stataus trikampio formos, kurio P kraštinė pratęsta 4 m į V nuo anksčiau ištirto ploto PV kampo, o V kraštinė – statmena nuo antrojo kontraforso R krašto, t. y. jos ilgis buvo 5 m. Tyrimų tikslas – pratęsti 2005 m. išorinio kiemo tyrimus, pratęsiant anksčiau tyrinėtą plotą iki atkastų rūmų antrojo kontraforso, esančio į V nuo rūmų pirmojo kontraforso. Kultūriniai sluoksniai tiek stratigrafiškai, tiek ir savo charakteristika (spalva, storis, griuvenų pobūdis) yra identiški 2005 m. ištirtiems ir fiksuotiems sluoksniams. 2008 m. atidengtas beveik visas rūmų perimetras, ištirtas apie 350 m2 plotas [p. 191].

ENThe Radvila palace is in the central part of the Dubingiai castle site, to the N of the former church, and closer to the W slope of the castle hill. In 2008 almost the entire perimeter of the palace was unearthed and about 350 m2 excavated. Only the N wall of the kitchen remains unexcavated and not yet found. It was established that the building seems to consist of two parts. The earlier E part of the palace dates to the early 16th century and consists of two basements and the ground floor flooring, which has partially survived. The W part of the palace was built in the early 17th century and its two areas were divided into antechambers and halls. The cultural layers, which are about 1–1.5 m thick and the 1890 finds discovered in them, show that this part of the palace was used intensively in the 15th century and that the unearthed masonry palace was erected in the first half of the 16th century while the wings were erected and the palace repaired in the early 17th century. The field survey of the sites of the observation paths and rest areas that are to be installed at the castle site yielded no results.
