LTŠereitlaukio piliakalnis (A512P) (Pagėgių sav.) įrengtas Nemuno dešiniojo kranto aukštutinės terasos aukštumos kyšulyje. 2005 m. ATL 2005 metais, V., 2006, p. 400–404). 2008 m. KPIP vykdė teritorijos į ŠV nuo piliakalnio žvalgomuosius archeologinius tyrinėjimus, kur planuojama įrengti pėsčiųjų taką. 15–20 m ilgio perkasomis ištirta 115 m ilgio ir 1,5 m pločio atkarpa (kartu su išpjovomis – 185 m2 plotas), užfiksuotas nuo keliolikos cm iki 2 m storio kultūrinis sluoksnis. ENIn 2008 KPIP conducted a field evaluation of the Šereitlaukis hill fort surroundings (Pagėgiai Municipality). 185 m2 were excavated and the remains of a 12th–13th-century foot settlement and a 5th–7th-century cemetery were discovered in it. 4 inhumations and 8 cremations with an abundance of grave goods were found: crossbow brooches, amber beads, and coil rings as well as a sickle, a socketed axe, spearheads, single-edged swords, and knives in the male burials and spindle whorls, bone combs, and an awl in the female burials. Cremation 13, in which a rich man was buried with a horse, should be distinguished. He was buried with a single-edged sword, two spearheads, and two tanged knives. Three crossbow brooches, fragments of other ornaments, and two spurs were also found. There was a bridle on the horse’s muzzle while its head and tail were decorated with bronze coil beads. The horse lay on its right side in a S–N direction, the muzzle pointing towards the cremated individual and the forelegs bent. Horse burials, which are characteristic of Central Lithuania, have so far not been known in the territory inhabited by the Scalvians and therefore this find is especially significant.
