Summary / Abstract:

LT2008 m.

ENA total area of 33 m2 was excavated at four sites at the Ustukiai (Pasvalys District) findspot. A Stone – Bronze Age settlement and Iron Age burial ground were discovered on a hill located on the left bank of the Mūša. Flint artefacts and hand built pottery dating from the Paleolithic to the Early Iron Age were found at the settlement site. It was established that they were buried in the settlement’s territory in the 5th–6th centuries as bronze artefacts from that time have also been found. One large or several smaller of the earlier barrows from the Old Iron Age could have been created here. A village cemetery was established at this site in the 18th century.
