LT2008 m. tyrinėta spėjamose elektros linijos proskynoje buvusių pilkapių 72 ir 73 liekanų vietose. Ištirti 2 plotai – iš viso 202 m². Vietos tyrinėjimams pasirinktos pagal situaciniame plane pažymėtus orientyrus ir nežymius reljefo nelygumus – spėjamas pilkapių liekanas. Tyrinėjimai vykdyti pagal KPD finansuojamą ardomų archeologijos vertybių tyrimų programą [p. 106].
ENIn 2008, two plots (5 and 6) (a total area of 202 m²) were excavated in Gudeliai (Lenkiškės) cemetery (Vilnius District). The remains of no barrows were found, only one small cremated bone and an iron buckle in plot 5. A few Stone Age, Iron Age, and Modern Age artefacts were also found. The excavation of the protected barrow zone, which was conducted during 2002–2008, has now been completed. Eight barrows or the remains of them were excavated over seven seasons. The area in the vicinity of the barrow cemetery was also investigated. A total area of 1210 m² was excavated. Cremations and one symbolic burial dating to the middle or third quarter of the 1st millennium were discovered in the barrows. The remains of Mesolithic, Iron Age, and Modern Age cultural layers and isolated artefacts were found in the investigated areas. A total of around 1800 artefacts were found during the excavations: an axe, part of a spearhead, knives, awls, spindle whorls, a temple ornament, neckrings and neck-ring parts, rings, buckles, a fitting, fragments of bronze ornaments, a coin, pottery sherds, a stove tile fragment, glass vessel shards, window glass shards, small iron artefacts, pieces of iron dross or slag, an unidentified bone artefact, flint artefacts or fragments of them (an arrowhead, scrapers, burins, small knives, core fragments, and blades), and flint flakes. Although no remains of unexcavated barrows exist in the cleared electric line route, it is possible to expect to find undisturbed cultural layers and isolated artefacts from other periods in its territory. It would be expedient to revise the site’s protected territory in the future.
