Žvalgomieji tyrimai Šventojoje

LT2008 m. tęsti 2006 m. pradėti intensyvūs archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrimai Šventosios akmens amžiaus gyvenvietėje (A1705) ir jos aplinkoje. Kasinėta Šventosios akmens amžiaus gyvenvietės Š dalyje, prie Šventosios gatvės ir centrinėje dalyje, Monciškėse. Tyrimai buvo taikomojo pobūdžio, išskyrus 3 šurfus, kurie buvo ištirti siekiant aptikti senesnių kasinėjimų perkasas R. Rimantienės tyrinėtoje 23-ioje gyvenvietėje [p. 23].

ENThe intense evaluations begun at Šventoji stone age settlement (Palanga City Municipality) and in its vicinity in 2006 were continued in 2008. The N part of Šventoji stone age settlement near Šventosios Street and the central part at Monciškės were investigated. Segments of 12 plots and 2 streets, around 6.75 ha, were surveyed during the investigation. A total area of 614 m² was investigated using 291 test pits, and 27 boreholes were made. A new findspot: a channel with a surviving cultural layer from the 3rd millennium BC and wooden stake constructions was discovered on the plots at Šventosios St. 26 and 34a in the NW corner of Šventoji stone age settlement. The channel’s banks were not inhabited but a specialised economic activity, i. e. fishing, occurred intensely on them. The site of R. Rimantienė’s 1971 trench and the valuable surviving cultural layer beside it were discovered on Sėlių Street in Monciškės near Šventoji settlement 23. Isolated amber flakes were discovered in the ploughed and dug up earth on the plots at Sergiškių St. 23 and Jotvingių St. 7. No finds were discovered at the other investigated locations in Šventoji stone age settlement.
