Tyrimai Raguvėlės ir Progimnazijos gatvėse

LTŠeduvos senamiesčio Progimnazijos ir Raguvėlės gatvėse tyrimai vykdyti per 10 etapų, derinant tyrimus su komunikacijų šulinių įrengimo darbais. Iš viso Progimnazijos ir Raguvėlės gatvėse 12 vietų ištirtas 105 m2 bendras plotas: Progimnazijos gatvėje 8 vietose 65,2 m2 – 10 m2 (2 x 5 m) plotas 1 tarp namų 13 ir 15; 4,95 m2 (1,8 x 2,75 m) plotas 3 Progimnazijos ir Margalio gatvių sankryžoje; 3 m2 (1,5 x 2 m) plotas 5 tarp namų 9 ir 11, ties namo 10 PR kampu; 4,5 m2 (1,5 x 3 m) plotas 6 prie sankryžos su Panevėžio gatve; 8,75 m2 (2,5 x 3,5 m) plotas 9 ties namu 7; 12 m2 (2 x 6 m) plotas 10 ties namu 1; 12 m2 (2 x 6 m) plotas 11 prie įvažiavimo į Šeduvos gaisrinės kiemą; 10 m2 (2 x 5 m) plotas 12 ties namu 3. Raguvėlės gatvėje 4 vietose ištirtas bendras 39,89 m2 plotas – 18 m2 (4 x 4,5 m) plotas 2 į Š nuo Raguvėlės gatvės Š dalies; 7,74 m2 (1,8 x 4,3 m) plotas 4 Raguvėlės gatvės PV gale, 43 m į ŠR nuo Kėdainių gatvės; 5,4 m2 (1,8 x 3 m) plotas 7 ties gatvės vidurine dalimi, už posūkio link Kėdainių gatvės, ties namu 5; 8,75 m2 (2,5 x 3,5 m) plotas 8, kastas 10 m į ŠR nuo ištirto ploto 4 [p. 363].

ENThe excavations on Raguvėlės and Progimnazijos Streets in Šeduva Old Town were conducted in ten stages, co-ordinating the excavations with the installation of utility line wells. A total of 105 m2 were excavated at 12 sites on Raguvėlės and Progimnazijos Streets: 65.2 m2 at eight sites on Progimnazijos Street and 39.89 m2 at four sites on Raguvėlės Street. The excavations established that closer to Panevėžio Street in the N end of Progimnazijos Street, the Šeduva Old Town cultural layer continues to a depth of 1.8 m. A cultural layer up to 1.9 m deep also exists in the N end of Progimnazijos Street and on the hill. On the basis of ceramics decorated with early wavy designs and other finds dating to the 15th–16th that were found here, this is earliest inhabitation site discovered in Šeduva to date. The cultural layer on Raguvėlės Street is up to 1.5 m deep, but here it is a fill layer brought in together with rubble from other Old Town sites in order to raise the street level in this low area. A eduva Old Town cultural layer with finds dating to the second half of the 2nd millennium was unearthed during the excavation. A wooden log well with 17th-century ceramics at the bottom was discovered in area 1 excavated in the carriageway of Progimnazijos Street.
