Tyrimai Trakų gatvėje

LT2006 m. Senųjų Trakų (Trakų r.) istorinėje dalyje (U19) planuojant vykdyti Trakų gatvės rekonstrukciją, statyti lietaus kanalizacijos įrenginius, buvo atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai (vadovas V. Steponaitis). Jų metu Trakų gatvės pradžioje, abipus gatvės, į ŠV ir ŠR nuo jos sankirtos su Pilies gatve, įvažiavime į pilį ir kelyje į lentpjūvę buvo ištirta 13 šurfų – 17 m2 plotas. Žvalgytame plote Trakų gatvės pradžioje daugumoje šurfų buvo aptiktas kultūrinis sluoksnis ar jo liekanos su XIV, XVI–XVII a. radiniais. Autoriaus teigimu, dalis žvalgytos teritorijos ir jos šlaitai suformuoti pilant plytų, čerpių gamybos proceso liekanas, tvarkant pilį po XIV a. pabaigos gaisro bei XV–XVII a. – perstatant, rekonstruojant bažnyčią, vienuolyną. Žvalgomųjų tyrimų rezultatai parodė, kad atliekant gatvės rekonstrukciją, būtini išsamūs archeologiniai tyrimai (ATL 2006 metais, V., 2007, p. 414–415). 2009 m. UAB „Kelda“ užsakė archeologinius tyrimus Trakų gatvės rekonstrukcijoje numatytose lietaus kanalizacijos įrengimo vietose, taip pat kelio vietoje keičiant dangą. Kasinėjimai ir žvalgymai vykdyti balandžio–gegužės mėnesį. Iš viso ištirtas 607 m2 plotas – 10 perkasų, dar apie 2000 m2 buvo žvalgyta [p. 359].

ENIn 2009, an excavation and field survey were conducted at the sites foreseen for the installation of storm drains and in the carriageway in replacing the road’s surface during the reconstruction of Trakų Street in Senieji Trakai. A total of 607 m2 (10 trenches) were excavated and about 2000 m2 surveyed. Trenches 4–6 contained 12 storage pits with 16th–19th-century finds, a bone awl, and a bone darning needle. Trenches 7–10 had a layer of charcoal-rich black soil, which contained finds from the first half – mid-14th century: bronze chaplet plates, fittings, crotals, a fragment of silver bar money (kapa), part of a cylindrical lock and a key, whetstones, a slate spindle whorl, pieces of a small knife, a small number of ceramic sherds, and bones. Trench 8 contained a stone construction bound with clay and a fragment a brick rubble wall bound with lime mortar – the remains of a structural ceramics kiln. The earliest kiln fragments belong to the 14th century; the kiln was rebuilt in later centuries. During the survey, layers of gravel fill up to 40–50 cm deep were discovered at the road site. In places, after removing the gravel, a layer of mixed black earth, which contained a small bronze axe from the late Bronze Age, several 17th-century coins, and a small number of 16th–20th-century finds, was unearthed.
