Summary / Abstract:

LTRugpjūčio 13–14 dienomis Senosios Žagarės apaštalų Šv. Petro ir Povilo bažnyčios šventoriuje (Švėtės g.) ŠU atliko archeologinius žvalgomuosius tyrinėjimus. Jų metu šventoriaus R dalyje, tarp bažnyčios altorinės dalies ir šventoriaus tvoros iškasti du 2,7 x 2,5 ir 2 x 2,5 m dydžio šurfai (2–3) ištiriant bendrą 11,75 m2 plotą [p. 308].

ENIn the yard of the Senoji Žagarė Church of Sts. Peter and Paul (North Lithuania, Joniškis District) ŠU conducted a field evaluation in 2009. During it 2 test pits (a total area of 11.75 m2 ) were excavated in the E part of the churchyard. They contained six 16th–17th century graves and the foundations (?) of the church that burned down prior to 1712 (?) or the remains of a crypt. The 2 graves contained the following grave goods: 2 bronze band rings, a penannular brooch with rolled terminals, and a bear (?) claw in a bronze setting with cast sheet ornaments.
