Kurtuvėnų dvaro sodyba

LTTęsiant Kurtuvėnų dvaro sodybos rekonstrukcijos ir pritaikymo turizmui bei kitoms kultūrinėms reikmėms projektą, 2009 m. numatyta pradėti jojimo paslaugų centro statybos darbus ir vandentiekio, kanalizacijos bei kitos infrastruktūros įrengimą. Prieš darbų pradžią būsimo mažojo maniežo, automobilių stovėjimo aikštelės bei kelio vietoje reikėjo atlikti žvalgomuosius archeologinius tyrimus. Jų tikslas buvo nustatyti, ar būsimų statybų plote būta statinių ar pastatų ir ar esama ten kultūrinio sluoksnio. Numatyta visą teritoriją šurfuoti, o reikalui esant, iškasti didesnes perkasas [p. 263].

ENIn 2009, a field evaluation (32 test pits, 2 trenches, a total excavated area of 93.2 m2) was conducted in the working part of Kurtuvėnai (Šiauliai District) manor at the site of the future small riding hall (where the Kurtuvėnai Regional Park stud farm stables currently stand). It was established that the original ground surface at this site was 1.65 m below the current level. The lower 20–70 cm thick part of the cultural layer consists of decomposed manure and other organic materials existing in stables and in their vicinity. The upper part was created later by various fill layers of clay, sand, gravel, construction waste, and rubble. The layer contained only the foundations and stone paving of 19th–20th-century buildings. Only the stone structures found in test pit 16M could be considered the remains of structures earlier than the 19th century. The cultural layer contained only one rustic potsherd and several unglazed stove tile fragments. The activities at this site have not been interrupted from the day the manor was created until the present day.
