Sapiegų rūmai ir aplinka

LT2009 m. spalio–gruodžio mėn. atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai L. Sapiegos gatvėje 13, Vilniaus mieste, Sapiegų rūmuose (unikalus kodas 25771) ir jų aplinkoje – Sapiegų rezidencijos, trinitorių vienuolyno ir ligoninės statinių komplekso (unikalus kodas 726) teritorijoje. Šie tyrinėjimai yra viena priešprojektinių darbų sudedamųjų dalių. Kaip ir 2007 m. atlikti tyrinėjimai (ATL 2007 metais, V., 2008, p. 244–248) šie gali būti vadinami archeologiniais–architektūriniais, nes jų metu didžiausias dėmesys skirtas Sapiegų rūmų architektūrinių detalių, konstrukcijų, dabartiniu metu žemės paviršiuje nematomų, prie rūmų buvusių statinių ar tik jų liekanų parametrų ir būklės nustatymui [p. 222].

ENIn preparing a project for the restoration of the former luxurious summer residential palace of the GDL Sapiega magnate family (Kazimieras Jonas Sapiega who built the palace, sought to become king of the Commonwealth of the Two Nations), the excavation in the palace and in its immediate vicinity continued: 56 m2 were excavated and 11 m2 surveyed. The remains of a wooden water pipe dating to the first half of the 17th century and 17th–18th-century masonry structures were discovered during the investigation. The cultural layer dates to the (15th?)16th–20th centuries. Relatively few finds were discovered. Structural ceramic artefacts and fragments predominated among them. The excavation yielded new data about the development of this part of Vilnius, the masonry constructions of 17th-century palaces, and the masonry structures built around them in the late 17th century.
