LT2009 m. VĮ „Lietuvos paminklai“ užsakymu Buivydų piliakalnio su gyvenviete (Vilniaus r.), Gyvolių piliakalnio (Mažeikių r.) ir Padievaičio piliakalnio (Šilalės r.) būsimų tvarkybos darbų vietose buvo atliekami archeologiniai tyrimai. Piliakalnius numatoma tvarkyti, pritaikyti lankytojams, įrengti pėsčiųjų takus, laiptus, informacines lentas, Gyvolių piliakalnyje – dar ir apžvalgos aikštelę bei užpilti iškasinėtas duobes. Padievaičio piliakalnį numatyta konservuoti [p. 56].
ENIn 2009 excavations were conducted at the locations of future landscaping work at the Buivydai hillfort and settlement site (Vilnius District), the Gyvoliai hillfort site (Mažeikiai District), and the Padievaitis hillfort site (Šilalė District). A 15 m2 area was excavated at the Buivydai hillfort site. The sterile soil contained the remains of a pit, in which thrown pottery sherds decorated with horizontal and wavy lines and a fragment of an iron knife were discovered. The finds date to the mid-2nd millennium. A 158 m2 area was excavated at the Gyvoliai hillfort site. The remains of wooden fortifications – fences were discovered on a terrace of the hill. A 0.5–1.2 m thick cultural layer with few artefacts was found in the test pits. The hillfort site dates to the 1st millennium – 13th century. A 32 m2 area was excavated at the Padievaitis hillfort site and an 80 cm thick cultural layer, which contained hand built pottery sherds with smooth and rough surfaces, fragments of partly thrown pottery, and an iron sickle was found. On the basis of these finds the hillfort site dates to the 1st millennium – 14th century.
