Žvalgomieji tyrimai Subačiaus gatvėje 41

LT2010 m. birželio mėnesį APC atliko žvalgomuosius archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniuje, Subačiaus g. 41, Tarptautinės Amerikos mokyklos (American International School of Vilnius) teritorijoje, į P nuo mokyklos pastato esančioje sporto aikštelėje ir kalvos šlaite. Šioje vietoje planuojama pastatyti naują sporto salę. 2002 m. archeologas K. Katalynas vykdė archeologinius žvalgymus į Š nuo mokyklos pastato, ties Subačiaus–Maironio gatvių sankryža įrengiant Subačiaus apžvalgos aikštelę. Aptiktas XX a. formuojant terasą iš kitų Vilniaus senamiesčio vietų atvežtas kultūrinis sluoksnis su XVII–XX a. radiniais (ATL 2002 metais, V., 2003, p. 349). Žvalgomųjų archeologinių tyrinėjimų metu iškasti 6 šurfai. Žvalgytas 24,5 m² plotas. Šurfai 1–4 išdėstyti sklypo P dalyje, pievelėje tarp 2 vaikų žaidimo aikštelių. Šurfai 5–6 iškasti krūmais ir medžiais apaugusioje sklypo Š dalyje, viršutinėje kalvos terasoje. [...] [p. 432-433].

ENIn June 2010, the APC conducted a field evaluation (a total of 24.5 m2) at Subačiaus st. 41. The cultural layer at the foot of the hill was 40–90 cm thick. Several 17th–20th century finds and a fragment of a human femur were discovered in it. A 2.8 m thick cultural layer was recorded in the NW (test pit 2) of the evaluated area. 16th–20th century finds and human bones from destroyed burials were discovered in the test pit. The bones of a badly destroyed skeleton from a 25–35 year old male were found at the bottom of the test pit. A 0.4–1 m thick cultural layer with 16th–19th century finds was recorded in the hill’s upper terrace (test pits 5–6). Although no destroyed burials were discovered, the discovered human bones allow the assumption to be made that a small cemetery or individual burials could have existed on the hills beside the school.
