ENThis article reviews the scale of the Bank of Lithuania’s collector coin issuance in the period from the restoration of Lithuania’s independence to the commemoration of the Bank of Lithuania’s 100th anniversary in several different profiles: the relevance and nature of the representation of themes, the sequence of coins in the corresponding direction, the use of metal and non-metal technologies, and the observance of heraldic traditions. Detailed directions are given for the expression of coins representing the state of Lithuania – its statehood, history, and culture. The shapes of coins issued by the Bank of Lithuania are reviewed, noting the aspiration of attracting the attention of collectors with unusual, innovative technological solutions. The peculiarities of coinage are examined in the context of collecting, culture, the creation of representation, and representational purposes. A coin is a small work of plastic art that combines elements of modern design, new technologies, and long-standing minting traditions into a whole.
