Panevėžio miesto senųjų kapinių vakarinės ribos tikslinimas

LT2011 m. vykdant tyrimus Panevėžio miesto istorinėje dalyje, Senamiesčio g. 72A (ištirtas 402,45 m2 plotas) buvo nustatyta, kad šis sklypas, esantis už NKVR pažymėtos senųjų Panevėžio kapinių (UK 21138) ribos, patenka į buvusių senojo Panevėžio kapinių teritoriją. Sklype tyrimų metu rasti 252 kapai bei surinkti pavieniai žmonių kaulai iš suardytų palaidojimų datuojami XVI a. pradžia-XVII a. II puse. Taip pat nustatyta, kad NKVR registre pažymėta Panevėžio miesto senųjų kapinių teritorija nėra tiksli. Nors buvusių kapinių ribų 2011 m. tyrimų metu nustatyti nepavyko, buvo padaryta išvada, jog kapinės užėmė gerokai didesnę teritoriją į V pusę nuo NKVR žymimos kapinių ribos. Jų teritorija apėmė ne tik ištirtą sklypą, bet siekė ir tolimesnius V pusėje besiribojančius Senamiesčio gatvės sklypus (ATL 2011 metais, V., 2012, p. 308–311). Kadangi nebuvo aišku, kokią teritoriją iš tikrųjų užima senosios Panevėžio bažnyčios šventoriuje buvusios kapinės, buvo nuspręsta atlikti žvalgomuosius tyrimus Panevėžio miesto senųjų kapinių (UK 21138) V ribai patikslinti. ENIn conducting an excavation (a total of 402.45 m²) in 2011 at Senamiesčio st. 72A, in the historical part of the city of Panevėžys, it was determined that this plot, which is outside the boundaries of the old Panevėžys cemetery demarcated by the NKVR, belonged to the cemetery territory that existed in the churchyard of the Panevėžys old church. The W boundary of this cemetery was corrected by the 2012 investigation. Ten trial trenches (a total of 100 m2) were excavated on three private plots. Mid 17th–20th century cultural layers were recorded in the first seven trenches, but no human remains were found in them. Burials were discovered only in trenches 8–10. Seven human burials were discovered during the entire investigation. Based on the grave goods, the burials date to the mid second half of the 17th century. The W boundary of the cemetery was corrected during the investigation and it was determined that the grounds of Panevėžys city’s old cemetery needs to be expanded to the S–SW.
