Tyrimai Kuršių nerijoje

LT2012 m. LII tęsė mokslinį projektą "Kuršių nerijos priešistorė: kompleksinių tyrimų metodologinis aspektas" (akronimas-SLUOKSNIAI). Toliau buvo bandomos žvalgomųjų tyrimų strategijos ieškant naujų archeologinių vietų ties Alksnyne ir į P nuo Nidos, taip pat lokalizuojant seniau archeologų ištirtas perkasas Nidos 1 gyvenvietėje. Šioje gyvenvietėje atlikti ir detalieji tyrimai. Iš viso 2012 m. Kuršių nerijoje buvo atlikti 8 GPR profiliai (305 m), vizualiai išžvalgytas 1,1 ha plotas, padaryta 13 gręžinių (34,9 m), iškasti 104 kasiniai, 28 šurfai (51,5 m²), 3 perkasos (53 m²), surasta 3217 archeologinių radinių, paimti 64 grunto mėginiai paleoekologiniams tyrimams, gauta 12 C14 datų. Trumpai apibendrinant projekto pasiekimus metodologinėje plotmėje galima teigti, kad Lietuvoje dažnai pervertinamas šurfavimo metodas. Kur kas efektyvesni naujų archeologinių objektų paieškos būdai Kuršių nerijoje yra paviršiaus žvalgymas ir GPR profiliavimas, derinami su kasiniais ir gręžiniais. [...] [p. 30, 33].

ENIn 2012, the LII continued the project of the scientists’ group, The Prehistory of the Curonian Spit: a Methodological Aspect of the Complex Research (acronym: SLUOKSNIAI). Field survey strategies were tested in the search for new archaeological sites at Alksnynė and to the S of Nida. An excavation was conducted at the Nida 1 settlement, the purpose of which was to test a custom-made groundwater lowering system and to once again evaluate the settlement’s chronology and natural environment. In 2012, 8 GPR profiles (305 m) were conducted in the Curonian Spit, a fieldwalking survey was conducted in 1.1 ha, 13 boreholes (34.9 m) were drilled, 104 shovel test pits, 28 test pits (51.5 m²), and 3 trenches (53 m²) were excavated, about 3000 finds were discovered, 64 soil samples were taken for palaeoecological testing, and 12 14C dates were obtained. 2 new prehistoric find spots were found: Alksnynė 2 and 3. The location of the trenches excavated during 1974–1978 and the old shore line of the Curonian Lagoon were identified at the Nida 1 settlement and fragments of a stratified archaeological layer were discovered and investigated. The research results will be thoroughly presented in international and Lithuanian research publications.
