Tyrimai Šventaragio gatvėje

LT2013 m. kovo–gegužės mėnesiais rekonstruojamos Šventaragio gatvės vietoje vykdyti archeologiniai žvalgymai, žvalgomieji ir detalieji tyrimai. Žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu ištirtas 63,18 m2 plotas, žvalgytas 1161,24 m2 plotas, tirtas bendras 508,22 m2 plotas. Iš viso bendras tyrinėtas plotas sudarė 1732,64 m2 . Žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu gatvės važiuojamoje dalyje ir šaligatvyje-projektuojamų inžinerinių tinklų vietose ištirti 6 šurfai (1–6), skvere-vandentiekio ir lietaus nuotekų trasos vietoje-3 šurfai (7–9). Tyrimų metu surinkta 7530 vienetų įvairių XVI a. II pusės-XIX a. radinių: buitinės keramikos (puodų, ąsočių, dubenų ir kitokių indų dalių (4592 vienetai), statybinės keramikos (plokštinių, dubeninių, puodyninių koklių, čerpių, grindų plytelių (1966 vienetai)), metalinių dirbinių (šaunamųjų ginklų šratų, antpirščių, apkalėlių, peilių geležčių, sagų, spynų, raktų (380 vienetų)), odos ir tekstilės dirbinių liekanų-daugiausia avalynės detalių (71 vienetas)), medinių dirbinių (kubilo dugno, stulpų bei tilto atramų liekanų (8 vienetai)), stiklo dirbinių (butelių, taurių šukių (32 vienetai)), XVII–XX a. monetų ir žetonų (211 vienetų) bei plombų (41 vienetas). Tarp statybinės keramikos radinių dominuoja XVI a. II pusės plokštiniai kokliai, padengti polichromine (baltos, geltonos, žalios spalvos) glazūra bei puošti gvazdikais. Aptikta keliasdešimt smulkių lovinių koklių fragmentų, tarp jų pasitaikė vienas, padengtas žalia glazūra, puoštas grotesku. Iš retesnių numizmatinių radinių pažymėtina auksinė moneta-1804 m. Jungtinės Nyderlandų Provincijos, Olandijos, dukatas, XVI a. Niurnbergo anoniminis žetonas, Jono Kazimiero varinių šilingų lobio likučiai. [...] [p. 393, 399-400].

ENDuring March – May 2013, surveys (1161.24 m2), evaluations (63.18 m2), and excavations (508.22 m2) (a total of 1732.64 m2) were conducted at the site of street renovations. It was determined that the damp, peaty layers in the carriageway were the Vilnia’s old bed, the 17th-18th centuries street having been on its S bank. The remains of building foundations were also unearthed. In the E part of the street, the remains of masonry supports and wooden structures from a mid−16th century bridge; the building foundations of an 18th century monastery of the Confraternity of St Roch; and the remains of wooden and masonry collectors built in the 18th and late 19th early 20th centuries were unearthed. 7530 diverse finds from the second half of the 16th–19th centuries were discovered: the remains of household pottery (pots, pitchers, bowls, etc.) (4592 items), construction ceramics (panel (Blattkacheln), "bowl-shaped" (Schüsselkacheln), and "pot−shaped’ (Topfkacheln) stove tiles, roof tiles, and floor tiles) (1966 items), metal artefacts (firearm shot (pellets), thimbles, decorative metal plates, knife blades, buttons, locks, keys) (380 items), leather and textile artefacts (mostly footwear elements) (71 items), wooden artefacts (a vat bottom, column and bridge piers) (8 items), glass artefacts (bottles, wineglasses) (32 shards), 17th–20th centuries coins, jetons, and tokens (211 items), and seals (41 items).Polychrome (white, yellow, and green) glazed panel stove tiles, decorated with dianthuses, from the second half of the 16th century predominate among the construction ceramics finds. Tens of small niche stove tile (Nischenkacheln) fragments, including a green glazed specimen decorated with a grotesque, were discovered. Among the rarer numismatic finds should be mentioned a gold coin, an 1804 ducat from the Batavian Republic (Netherlands), a 16th century Nurnberg anonymous jeton, and the remains of a hoard of John II Casimir copper shillings.
