ENIn 2013, an evaluation (8 m2 excavated) and an excavation (246 m2) were conducted at Vilniaus st. 37, Vilnius. It was determined that the cultural layer was up to 4.8 m thick. The upper layers to a depth of 0.9–1.1 m from the present−day surface were destroyed in the 20th century while laying utility lines and erecting a garage. A 19th century cultural layer horizon, which was 1.9 m thick in the N part and over 4.1 m everywhere else, was recorded from a depth of 1.1 m throughout the excavated area. A fragment of a 0.9–1 m thick, 17th century cultural layer horizon was recorded at a depth of 1.9 m in the area’s NW corner. Based on the research data it is possible to state that part of the Vilnius defensive wall and ditch, which in the early 19th century, was filled in, was discovered at the investigation site. The remains of a wooden structure, dating to no earlier than the late 19th century and with no clear purpose, were discovered. It was determined that in the early 20th century it had been filled in. Fragments of a late 17th century wooden water line were found in the SW part of the excavated area. During the investigation, it was determined that the masonry foundation of the N wall of the building at Vilniaus st. 39 had been laid in the first half of the 19th century. No remains of the Vilnius defensive wall were found. Its foundation had probably been dismantled in eretecting the building at Vilniaus st. 39. I time of excavations 1061 finds collected, between them-remains of 19th century pistol.
