Marcialio poezijos prozinių įžangų ypatumai : disertacija

LTDisertacijoje nagrinėjama romėnų poeto, epigramos klasiko Marko Valerijaus Marcialio kūryba. Mokslinė problema – prozinių tekstų egzistavimas poezijos knygose. Pats poetas šiuos tekstus vadina epistola – „laiškas“ ir suteikia įžangos funkciją. Proziniai Marcialio laiškai, jų ypatumai bei vieta epigramų knygose detaliai nagrinėjami pirmą kartą. Mūsų tyrimo tikslas – ištirti įžanginių prozinių Marcialio tekstų ypatumus bei nustatyti šių tekstų bei poezijos knygų, kurias jie pradeda, santykį. Darbą sudaro pratarmė, trys dalys, išvados, priedai ir bibliografija, kuri susideda iš sutrumpinimų, šaltinių, Marcialio komentarų bei cituojamos literatūros sąrašų. Pirmojoje – teorinėje – dalyje apžvelgiamos romėnų prozinės įžangos vystymosi tendencijos, svarbiausi sudėtiniai įžanginio teksto elementai, ieškoma bendrų įžanginio teksto bruožų skirtingų žanrų kūriniuose (pasiremiama konkrečiais retorikos traktatuose, istoriniuose veikaluose, „specialistų“ (agronomijos) darbuose išlikusiais įžangų pavyzdžiais), aptariama epistolinė, t.y. laiško formos, įžanga. Kitos dvi disertacijos dalys skirtos penkių išlikusių Marcialio prozinių tekstų nuosekliam tyrinėjimui: antrojoje dalyje aptariami struktūriniai Marcialio laiškų elementai ir ypatumai, trečiojoje – tiriamas laiškų santykis su knygomis, siekiama parodyti šių tekstų ir knygų integralumą bei nustakyti jų funkciją tose knygose. ENThe dissertation examines the works of the Roman poet, the classic of epigrams of Marcus Valerius Martialis (Martial). The academic problem addressed is the presence of prosaic texts in poetry books. The poet himself referred to these texts as “letter” (epistola) and assigned to them the function of an introduction. The prosaic letters of Martial, their particularities and their place in the books of epigrams have not been examined before. This study aims to research to the features of Martial’s introductory prosaic texts and determine the relation between these texts and the poetry books that they start. The study consists of an introduction, three parts, a conclusion, as well as appendices and bibliography, which includes abbreviations, sources, Martial’s commentaries and list of the literature cited. The first part is theoretical and gives an overview of trends in the development of Roman prosaic introductions and the main constituent elements of an introductory text; attempts to identify common features in the texts introducing works of different genres by drawing on particular examples remaining in rhetoric treatises, historical and other works; and discusses the epistolary form of introductions. The other two parts of the dissertation are devoted to the comprehensive analysis of Martial prosaic texts: the second part discusses the structural elements and peculiarities of Martial’s letters, while the third one examines the relation of the letters to the books, attempts to show the integrity of these letters and the books, as well as describe their function.
